This video compares the visual effects scenes from 2 versions of the classic "Star Trek" episode "For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky". On the left side you can see the original 60's effects, on the right side you can see the new CGI scenes from the "digitally enhanced" edition. Definitely an improvement to the asteroid ship as the original reuses the asteroid from "The Paradise Syndrome". Sorry I took so long to find this one.

Mixed. The opening credits are a lot better in the original. The ship actually moves pretty fast!

I prefer the original on this one, but I think it's for nostalgia purposes only. I grew up watching the video version of this episode.

It's probably me.  Please Do Not worry about it.  I have the CGI Enhanced DVD versions.  I'm saving up my money and giving hints for Christmas for the BluRay Versions.  Again!  Great Job on the original vs cgi comparisons.  I've had my Sons and friends over to watch Star Trek.  It blew them away.  One of my friends keeps begging me to let him use them.  (NOT!)  Until I get the BD versions.  Thanks again. I removed my comment also. You still get the thumbs up.

1:11 Because they went with the same angle, you can REALLY see how much the CGI ship looks like a cartoon. ILM ships look like REAL objects. CBS Digital? Not so much. ;)

I definitely don’t think they got this one right, in the first shot with the 5 approaching objects you can’t even see them in the CGI replacement, and the new asteroid is far too bland, the original looked way more interesting, in such a colourful show that big grey potato sticks out like a sore thumb, they could at least have given it A colour.

2:36 is literally the exact same shot as the one at 0:47. An editing error...
