Shell – Gas to liquids (GTL) | Shell Natural Gas

Shell’s gas to liquids (GTL) technology converts natural gas – the cleanest-burning fossil fuel – into high-quality liquid products that would otherwise be made from crude oil. These products include transportation fuels, motor oils and the ingredients for everyday necessities like plastics, detergents and cosmetics. GTL products are colourless and odourless. They contain almost none of the impurities – sulphur, aromatics and nitrogen – that are found in crude oil. Visit for more information. I'm starting to like synthetic fuels more than I usually do. Both Sasol and Shell can eliminate the need for conventional petroleum fuels since they can make Fischer-Tropsch synthetic fuels out of just about anything. It's only a matter of time when these fuels go mainstream and completely replace conventional gasoline, Diesel, and natural gas

This is exactly what Australia should be doing. Converting natural gas into diesel using the plentiful Western Australia gas fields would afford the country a high degree of fuel security. Australia is big user of diesel for its mining, agriculture and haulage industries.

Hello, do Shell Helix motor oils share the same 'helix technology' with Pennzoil's Pure Plus motor oils?

I wonder if anyone at Shell is thinking about what a municipality might do with solid waste if they combined a scaled down FT process (and cracking/reforming/isomerization processes) with 700°C process heat from an MSR for hydrogen production, gasification and feedstock dryring. Because I sure am. When are we going to see a JV between Waste Management, Shell, Terrestrial Energy and a municipality?
